On the 15th day of the 4th Tibetan month is Saka Dawa Festival. The day is believed to be the day when Sakyamuni was born, step into Buddhahood and attained nirvana. Tibetans believe that one merit equals myriads of merits accumulated the other days. People keep from killing animals, refrain from eating meats and liberate animals. Sutra chanting, prayer turning, Cham dancing and other religious activities dominate the session. Offering sacrifices to the female deity enshrined in the temple on the islet of the Dragon King Pond, boating in the pond and picnicking adds more festive mood in Tarboche foot of mt. Kailash.
Holy Mt. Kailash & Lake Manasarovar
Few Mountain reval Holy Mt. Kailash and lake Manasarovar for its mystique. It is considered to be the "center of the universe" by Hindus, Buddhist, Jain and Bonpo and its flanks give birth to four great Asian rivars the Indus, Brahmaputra, Ganges and Satlej. Accordingly its near legendary reputation draws pilgrims from throughout Asia to walk the sacred path arround the earthly incarnation of the mythical Mount Meru and Lake Manasarovar. Once pilgrimage journey made to this holy site assures the free from the sins of a lifetime.

Drive Nyalam to Yak Kharkha (4675m) – 240 Kms / 8-9 hrs camp
15 June
Day - 03
Drive Yak Kharka to New Dzongba (4500m) – 160 Kms /6-7 hrs camp
16 June
Day - 04
Drive New Dzongba to mayumla Phedi (4500m) – 210 Kms /7-8 hrs camp
17 June
Day - 05
Drive Mayamla Phedi to Manasarovar (4560m) – 120 Kms /5-6 hrs camp
18 June
Day - 06
Morning drive to Tarboche Enjoy Saka Dawa Festival with Tibetan Peoplel. Overnight Camping
19 June
Day - 07
Drive Approx. 8 Kms from Darchen to Tarboche, the trek starting point of Kailash Parikrama. Trek to Dira Phuk (4775m) – 12 Kms /6-7 hrs-camp.
20 June
Day - 08
Continue Parikrama over Dolma la pass (5650m) to Zuthul Phuk (4700m)-22 Kms /10 – 11 hrs–camp.
21 June
Day - 09
The Kailash Kora ends today after an easy trek – 14 kms. Proceed to Horchu (4560m) at lake Manasarovar. Camp.
22 June
Day - 10
Drive Horchu to Mayumla Phedi (4500m) – 120 Kms /6-7 hrs -camp
23 June
Day - 11
Drive Mayumla Phedi to New Dzongba (4500m) – 160 Kms /5-6 hrs – camp.
24 June
Day - 12
Drive new Dzongba to yak Kharka (4675m) – 240 Kms / 6-7 hrs – camp.
25 June
Day - 13
Drive yak Kharka to Nyalam (3750m) – 240 Kms /6 – 7 hrs – O/nt guesthouse.
26 June
Day - 14
Drive downhill to the friendship bridge where transportation awaits to the groups final leg of journey to Kathmandu (1300m) – 150 Kms /8-9 hrs.
