Lhasa - EBC - Kathmandu Tour or VV - 9 Days

The Tibet with Mount Everest Base Camp Tour is a very comprehensive tour of Tibet with visits to the cultural, historic and naturarongbuk ebcl attractions of Tibet. The tour includes all the important places of interest in central & south Tibet including a visit to Rongphu Monastery and Mt. Everest Base Camp.

 

After flying in to Lhasa from Kathmandu, Chengdu or Beijing, explore the cultural and historic sites of Lhasa, Shigatse and Gyantse.

 

Afterwards drive overland, in 4-WD jeeps, across the Tibetan highlands and high passes to the fabled Rongphu Monastery and Mt. Everest Base Camp from where the view of the great North face of Mount Everest is the most spectacular of all.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01 :- Arrive Gongar airport (3650m.) transfer to Lhasa
Upon arrival at Gongar Airport, You shall be met by your Tibetan Guide and transfer to Lhasa city. O/nts .at Hotel

 

Day 02-03 :- LHASA SIGHTSEEING TOUR
Today we will visit the Jokhang Temple, situated in the heart of Old Lhasa, it houses Tibet's most precious religious relic, a golden Shakyamuni Buddha which was brought as a gift by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng on the occasion of her wedding to the Tibetan King, Songtsen Gompo. Surrounding the Jokhang Temple is the bustling Barkhor Market place, which is the religious and social focus of Lhasa. Later in the day visit the Potala Palace, this legendary palace built a top a single hill is synonymous with Tibet by the first foremost king Songtsen Gompa. The 5th Dalai Lama expanded it to its present structure during the 17th century. This 13 story 1000 room citadel served as the headquarters of the former "Monastic-state" of Tibet and was home to successive Dalai Lamas, who from the latter half of the 18th century used it as their Winter palace. And largest and second largest monasteries Depong and Sera, university and Buddhist learning center. Overnight stay at the Hotel.

 

Day 04 :- LHASA - GYANTSE (3800m.)-259/kms.
Drive to Gyantse crossing The KAMBA LA (4794m.) & KARO LA (5010m.) PASS via The Lake Yamdrok-Tso. O/nt at Hotel.

 

Day 05 :- GYANTSE - SHIGATSE (3900m.)-90/kms.
AM: Visit The Khumbum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery at Gyantse. Embark on a pleasant 2 hrs. drive to Shigatse. (PM: Sightseeing Tour of the Tashilunpo Monastery and the free Tibetan market. O/nt. at Hotel.)

 

Day 06 :- SHIGATSE - SHAKYA MONASTERY - RONGBUK (5050M.) - 280 kms.
Drive to (Approx. 8hrs.) Xegar, O/nt. at Rongbuk Guest House.

 

Day 07 :- EVEREST BASE CAMP EXCURSION (5090m.)
A 2 hrs. Trek from The Rongbuk Monastery will lead you to the base of the highest peak on earth The North Face of Mount Everest (8848m.) Or Mount Quomolangma in Tibetan. Explore the base camp and The Ronghu Glacier. Late evening back to Rongphuk for the night.

 

Day 08 :- RONGPHUK - NYALAM (3750M.)-220 km
Take a morning view of Everest North Face and afternoon Drive to Nyalam. Overnight at Guesthouse.

 

Day 09 :- NYALAM - ZANGMU - KODARI - KATHMANDU DRIVE - 180 /kms.
Drive downward to the border town and complete immigration formalities both side China and Nepal and meet our representative to transfer further drive to Kathmandu.
