As well as the cultural interests of the Kathmandu Valley and the wilderness experiences of Himalayan treks, there are numerous fascinating places to visit throughout the country.
Some, such as Nagarkot and Kakani on the rim of the Valley, offer spacious Himalayan views, peaceful country settings and comfortable lodging. Other, such as Buddha’s birthplace at Lumbani or home of the Shah Kings at Gorkha, offer intriguing insights into the history of the country.
Yet others, such as Tansen, Chitwan and lovely lake side Pokhara are delightful places to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Kingdom in the heart of south central Asia.
